The course focuses on globalisation and gender relations. The first part of the course focuses on main concepts and perspectives crucial to the understanding of changes in social institutions and gender relations in globalisation processes. Gender relations are studied on a structural as well as an everyday life level.

Current findings on gender differences and inequalities will be discussed. Variations in the feminist movement will be analysed in relation to differences in the cultural, institutional and political context in different parts of the world.
