This project is a continuation of the research project: Public transport in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania; institutional challenges and opportunities for a sustainable transport system carried out from 2003 to 2004. This study analyses mechanisms, forms for involvement and participation in planning for public transport. Questions asked are: How can participatory transport planning involving the suppliers, consumers and other stakeholders work in urban metropolis like Dar-es-Salaam?
