Social Anthropology: Internship
Socialantropologi: Praktikkurs, 15 högskolepoäng
Second Cycle / Avancerad nivå
The course is included in semester 3 of the Master of Science programme in Social Anthropology (SASAN, 120 credits) and is also offered as an elective course.
Language of instruction: English
The internship comprises half a semester, 15 credits (10 weeks). The aim of the course is to provide students with the opportunity to work actively with societal issues in different public, private or NGO activities. It is the responsibility of the student to find an appropriate work placement. The placement must be approved by the course director. The student is to read and analyse literature related to the area of the internship during the course.
The teaching consists of supervision. The hours of supervision are limited to the semester in which the student first registered for the course. Exceptions can be made if there are special grounds. Participation in the final seminars and workshops is compulsory unless special circumstances apply. This includes designing an internship plan and internship report.
At the beginning of the course, a written agreement must be in place between the host organisation, yourself and the course director that is inaccordance with what is specified above (qualified tasks and the minimum and maximum number of hours).
The internship agreement for the course (SANN12) is to be sent to the course director. It must be signed by you, as well as the supervisor at the workplace, and the course director.
