Social Welfare Assessments: East Asian and Scandinavian Redistribution Models in a Global Context

Comparative social policy by studies of welfare systems in different contexts

Financed by the Swedish Research Council/Sida 2012-2015

This project aims to contribute to comparative social policy research by developing comparative studies on welfare systems in different development contexts.

Particularly the project explores characteristics and outcomes of welfare policies in different social policy sectors. The project also tries to develop an understanding of the main actors in shaping the development of the welfare systems in different economies. The project includes partners from Lund University, Institute of European Studies at Chinese Academy of Social Science in China and Faculty of Sociology at Vietnam National University in Hanoi. The project will be a contribution to the interdisciplinary study of globalisation and welfare development.
