Milestone celebration: New professor Stina Bergman Blix

As a new professor at the department, I would like to introduce my former and current research interests to spark conversation and collaboration with my new colleagues in Lund. 

Some of the questions that I have grappled with over the years are: How can emotions, which we often perceive as private, be used in professional contexts? How are emotions professionalized in rational environments where they remain unspoken, and in existential situations where they are deemed central? What meaning does emotions have when people make independent decisions together? All these questions use emotions’ intentional and evaluative role as an analytical entry point to a nuanced understanding of social action, falling back on the question: how can we study and theorize emotions? 

After the talk we will continue discussion over snacks and drinks.
