The Future of Work
The theme for 2019 SamTech-seminars is:
The Future of Work
-Work Life in Digital Transition.
Some of the seminar will be connected to SamTechs´ Anthology Project
Technological advances such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Internet of things, are transforming work life, labour markets and professions. For example, digitalization are changing the composition of the workforce and there are many questions about what transformative role digitalization will have on the future of work. These technological advances have also led to different policy responses, raised several ethical questions and questions about how social sciences can contribute to the development of ethical technological advances.
Many researchers and teachers at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University are engaged in a wide range of occupations such as administrators, journalists, lawyers, psychologist, social workers, teachers, politicians etc. Many researchers and teachers are also conducting studies about aspects that are relevant for many occupations such as trust, transparency, accountability, division of labour, labour market policies, professional development, carriers, work environment, leadership, surveillance etcetera.
As part of the theme for 2019 SamTech will work towards the completion of an anthology to be published in the journal Arbetsliv i omvandling (http://journals.lub.lu.se/index.php/aio/index). At SamTechs seminars and workshops you can present your idea and discuss your manuscript. Some of the seminars and workshops during the year will be devoted to the work with the anthology. However, at each seminar we will use a slot of time to address issues related to the work with this anthology.
Together, we can offer a broad and diverse picture of the Future of Work and Work Life in Digital transition.
