The grant is awarded in three categories - articles, books and short texts. Lila Lee-Morrison received the grant for a book proposal entitled Machinic Landscapes: Technology, Art, and Environment in an Age of Planetarity. The book deals with contemporary artists who produce imaginary landscapes by recontextualising images of the planet made by digital imaging systems. In contrast to technological developments in scientific and military contexts, the artists' work addresses the embodiment of various subjectivities inherent in both technological and environmental processes.

Lila Lee-Morrison is a researcher at Lund University, currently in the project Show & Tell: Scientific representation, algorithmically generated visualisations, and evidence across epistemic cultures.
