Current research
I have expertise within the anthropology of China and have a profile within existential/psychological anthropology. I am now PI (Principal Investigator) of the project New Relational Horizons for Institutionalized Youth in Denmark: Loneliness and Belonging, which investigates young people’s experiences of institutionalization and their relationships to significant others. The project offers policy advice on how to decrease experiences of loneliness and increase a sense of belonging.
In addition to this, I am co-editing a book called Flygtningefamilier i forandring, about changing family relationships for refugee families in Denmark, and a special issue/book on The Transformative Power of Love, which investigates the force of love in social life in a global perspective.
Teaching
I teach social anthropology at the BA, MA, and Ph.D. level.
