Lunch Seminars at the Department of Sociology Tuesdays at 12:00-13:00

The department's lunch seminar series is an informal arena for our own researchers to present and discuss research ideas and findings. Each presenter talks for about half an hour, followed by a discusson. Feel free to bring your lunch!

This is our research-in-progress seminar series (in Swedish: Forskning på gång) where the department’s own researchers present their ongoing research.

  • Time: Tuesdays at 12:05-13:00
  • Place: The Department of Sociology in Lund, Gamla lungkliniken (House G).

Please note: Places at the seminar are limited.

We especially invite staff and master's students of the Department of Sociology. If you are not a student or member of staff and would like to attend the event please email one of the contact persons no later than 48 hours before the start of the seminar to inquire about available places.

Käthe von Bose

"In good company? ‘Doing exclusivity’ in service clubs and nobility associations in Germany"

Käthe is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology at the LMU Munich, Germany, and visiting scholar at Lund University. Her ethnographic PhD thesis focused on cleaning work in hospitals. Her postdoctoral project on practices of belonging in exclusive clubs and associations is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Her main research interests are gender studies, intersectionality, sociology of work and sociology of emotions.
