On this page we list all stand-alone courses and degree programmes in English at the Department of Sociology in Lund.

Freestanding courses
We offer freestanding courses in sociology and social anthropology at the Bachelor's and Master's level. The courses vary in length from 15 to 30 credits. A freestanding course is a single-subject module which may either be studied as part of a degree programme or on its own. Most of our Bachelor's courses are 'introductory' level and are open to all students who have finished upper secondary school studies.
Application periods
- Autumn courses: mid March to mid April each year (the date varies).
- Spring courses: mid September to mid October each year (the date varies).

Our theme-courses should be taken as a supplement to other courses. They can usually be studied without previous university merits, but please note: they usually do not give eligibility for further studies. To be admitted to this course, you must have completed 60 credits in a social science subject, or the equivalent.

Advanced level Master's courses provide you with a deeper academic understanding by broadening your subject knowledge and giving you the opportunity to further specialize. To be eligible for a Master's course you must have passed the Bachelor's (undergraduate) level.
