Introductory meetings

At the beginning of August, a welcome letter will be sent to the email address you have provided on In that letter you will find all you need to know regarding your introductory meeting. During the summer, we will also add all Welcome Letters (for all courses starting in September) to the page

If you have not received an email towards the end of August, please check your spam folder, or find the letter here on the website via the link above.

Please note that introductory meetings are for accepted students only and not for people on our waiting list. More information for those on the waiting list can be found on the page Checklist for New Students. 

You can also usually see time, date and place for the introductory meeting in your course schedule. Find your schedule by typing your course code or course name into TimeEdit. Please note: due to the situation regarding covid-19, certain changes in the schedule may be made at short notice.

Covid-19 and digital teaching

Information about Corona/Covid-19 for students studying at the Department of Sociology.

The Department building closed until 29 August

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Department's building is currently closed for students and will open again on Monday 30 August.

Ordinary opening hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30-17:00, Friday 07:30-16:00.

Students with an LU-card can enter the department building during opening hours.
