Ongoing research

Tiago Duarte Dias' research focuses on the Kurdish diaspora in Sweden and its and its connection to the Swedish football tradition. He has also started collection of empirical data on women's football in Sweden and Brazil.

Background

Tiago Duarte Dias received his PhD in 2021 from Fluminense Federal University in Brazil with a thesis entitled "Identities at Play: Ethnicity, Nationalism and Kurdish Football in Sweden". Since 2022, he has been teaching and supervising in anthropology at Lund University. Recently, he has published two peer-reviewed articles and a forthcoming monograph based on his thesis.
